ISRC Code (International Standard Recording Code

A ISRC Code is a unique code assigned to an audio or music video recording, to identify that recording. This code is used by digital aggregators, music distributors, and streaming services to identify and track digital sales and streams of the recording. It is also used to identify top songs for the Billboard Charts. To find an ISRC code, use the ISRC CODE SEARCH website.

Mechanical Licensing (for recording projects):
HFA is hired (by publishers with high profile catalogs / hit songs) to administer mechanical licensing for their catalogs. If someone wants to record a “cover” of a song represented by HFA, they must license it through HFA. In cases where indie artists wish to make recordings of a HFA song, “limited quantity mechanical licenses” may be purchased in advance through the SONGFILE.

NOI Mechanical Licensing (for streaming services):
HFA is also hired by streaming services like SPOTIFY, to identify rights holders, issue NOI’s, and pay streaming mechanical royalties (to the publishers)for songs streamed on its clients services.
Registered Publishers may SUBMIT THEIR SONG CATALOG INFORMATION through the HFA Publisher Portal.

Music Reports

NOI Mechanical Licensing (for streaming services):
Music Reports is hired by streaming services like Pandora, SoundCloud, iHeartRadio, Amazon, Tidal, and others to to identify rights holders, issue NOI’s, and pay streaming mechanical royalties (to the publishers)for songs streamed on its clients services.
Registered Publishers may SUBMIT THEIR SONG CATALOG INFORMATION by filling out Catalog Submission Template.
